I used frsky protocol with a subtype mentioning D8 . The r81v2 has the appearance of the nano recievers at a lower price , is much easier to solder by inserting tinned connecting wire ends through holes in pads along the edge of the circuitboad , thexr18 v2 does not need to be upgraded bi-weekly , and it adds a easily programmable failsafe by stick settings / press bind button within a few seconds of powering it .
