Brotherhobby LA 2005 Ultralight Motor

Assemble! The LA line of Brotherhobby motors is designed to be durable in tough flying conditions and fly smoothly with their NMB bearings. The shaft is made out of titanium to make it extremely tough and resist deformation from crashes. 

Take this motor to the dustiest, most concrete filled bando and don't worry, because the LA 2005 motor can do this all day.

This 2005 motor is perfectly sized for lower to medium weight drones with 3 to 5 inch propellers. If you're building a heavy drone for 7" props, we have a hulk.

So disappointing

Ugh, these have a major design flaw. The surface of the motor bell that the prop is clamped against is not flat. The ribs flare upwards to the motor shaft and the prop hub actually gets pushed against this radius (the product photos are accurate). Trimming a chamfer into the prop hub bore (what a pain) helped a little, but then the prop is clamped against the ribs which are angled. The end result is that it is nearly impossible to get the prop to be mounted flat against the motor which causes noise and vibration. No amount of prop balancing will fix this. This is motor design 101, right? Clamp the prop against a flat surface. Every other motor, even BH motors, do this. Seems like an ok motor otherwise, if you don't mind the wobbly prop. Very few motors around this size with a 5mm shaft, ended up with the rcinpower 2105 and am much happier!
