TBS Lucid Flight Controller Freestyle

The TBS Lucid Flight Controller Freestyle is designed for racing and freestyle drone applications, catering to both seasoned pilots and newcomers. Built as a 20x20 masterpiece, this flight controller is compatible with all 20x20 ESCs and supports the TBS Crossfire & TBS Tracer ecosystem, making it a versatile solution for any setup.

There are plug & play connectors for the DJI O3 digital system and 4in1 ESCs, following the Betaflight connector standard. The solder pads for auxiliary devices are designed and arranged to be easy to solder and logical for installation in your favorite drone frames, such as the TBS Source One.

For the professional pilot, a MPU6000 (Pro) variant is available (those who know, will know), while the ICM-42688P (Freestyle) based version offers a state-of-the-art gyro solution at a better price.

Walksnail users beware!

If you use walksnail you will need a 5k ohm resistor (10k may work, ymmv) between the FC TX and ground pad for the UART you are using with your airunit. TBS has made an error in their design and didn't adequately test it with WS.

Now, as a flight controller, its pretty great. I've been at this for over a decade and I've never found a real difference between gyros as long as they are implemented correctly. Even though this is the supposedly "inferior" gyro, it flies very smooth, shows very little vibrations, and was very easy to hook up. My only real gripe here is that the TBS ESC pinout is not the standard one you get from most other manufacturers, so you will have to repin the cable unless you use their ESC.
